Brief profile: Our Charity is engaged in the prevention of children’s accidents and in improving the care of injured children in Greece. Our goal is to:

  • reduce the number of children’s accidents,

  • ensure the immediate and proper treatment of injured children,

  • upgrade the hospital care provided to children in our country.

The results in numbers:

According to the statistics of the Hospitals and Health Centers equipped by “Pedtrauma”, from 2010 up to the present date more than 3.447.700 children have benefitted from our Charity’s work.

In 2025, 448.100 children passed through the Trauma Centers and the Paediatric Departments equipped by “Pedtrauma”.

How we implement our work:

a) By opening Trauma Centers in major Public Hospitals

We have upgraded, renovated, and equipped 45 Trauma Centers, where the injured child is immediately admitted and stabilised without losing valuable time.

b) Equipping Paediatric Departments and Clinics in Public Hospitals and Health Centers

Our main program focuses on equipping Public Hospitals and Health Centers throughout Greece. To date, we have equipped 152 Departments in 127 Hospitals and Health Centers with 1.883 machines and necessary equipment. In this way, we significantly improve the quality of care that children receive in critical moments.

c) Educating children, parents, and teachers on Trauma Prevention

The “Education on Trauma Prevention” Program, through presentations and educational materials, informs children, parents, and teachers about the most common risks that can cause accidents, providing guidance on how to protect children at home, at school, and in outdoor spaces. Our presentations on Trauma Prevention have been attended by 70.242 children and 3.658 teachers and parents. It has been shown that proper education can reduce the number and severity of children’s accidents by up to 50%.

d) Educating healthcare professionals on how to care for injured children

The Charity supports the training of medical and nursing staff, as well as Ambulance paramedics, through the Medical Education Program “Leonidas Georgopoulos”. To date, 2.498 doctors, nurses, and Ambulance paramedics have been trained. The training focuses on the assessment, resuscitation, and stabilization of children at risk and is delivered through seminars organised by A.P.L.S. Hellas and A.P.L.S. Crete, which we partially fund to ensure their quality and continuity.

To date, we have equipped 152 Paediatric Departments in 127 Public Hospitals and Health Centers across Greece. Specifically:
